I find it concerning that I don’t care Sit here and watch it, burn it Hoping on a solar flare Viral videos and brand new clothes All because I don’t care Soldiers to an endless dream Soldiers of complacency The guns are loaded and the credit cards rise up Fighting a war that nobody signed up for From the comfort of your TV screen I don’t care what I want I don’t care what I need Freedom just to talk these words don’t come cheap

We are escaping the template that’s paved in the past Colours bleed into land watch the culture collapse Driven by fear we isolate the poor Hide them away in Brutalist forms Calling us gangs, express their dissent, conspiring against us they’ll never win Miles Van De Rohe got me loving clean lines Throwing stones in glass homes Who is to blame, when the man has no face Evil at play Hold on my people, have faith

about

"Freedom to Talk, offers re-contextualised information drawn from mainstream media, conspiracy theories and academia. It is inevitably a, sort of, faux-political ideology that seeks to win votes by any means necessary." -Acidslop

Mandarin Dreams are excited to present Freedom To Talk, a collection of bedroom demos by Melbourne duo, Acidslop. Comprised of DJ/Producer A.kid and self-taught multi-instrumentalist Alien, they are the founders of Raw Humps, an 11-piece psychedelic band and cult figure in Melbourne’s underground soul scene.

Leading up to Raw Hump’s forthcoming debut album Sugar Slave Babies, Acidslop provide a preface with Freedom To Talk. Initially not intended for release this collection of demos was used as the basis for Raw Humps live shows. Not unlike the many mixtapes and demos they’ve made over the years, these lo-fi reductions were born of late nights, lost takes and a wandering mind. The songs feature fellow musicians from Raw Humps and Mandarin Dreams, Ikey, Silent Jay, Hoose and Sam Albert Morrison.

This record was created on stole land of the Wurundjeri people. We acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, who today still continue to survive genocide.
